My friend the communist Holds meetings in his RV I can't afford his gas So I'm stuck here watching TV Well I don't have digital I don't have diddly-squat It's not having what you want It's wanting what you've got I'm gonna to soak up the sun I'm gonna tell everyone to lighten up I'm gonna tell them that I've got no one to blame But every time I feel lame I'm looking up I'm gonna soak up the sun And I've got a crummy job It don't pay near enough To buy the things it takes To win me some of your love Every time I turn around I'm looking up, you're looking down Maybe something's wrong with you that makes you act the way you do I'm gonna to soak up the sun I'm gonna tell everyone to lighten up I'm gonna tell them that I've got no one to blame But every time I feel lame I'm looking up I'm gonna soak up the sun Don't have no master suite I'm still the king of me You have a fancy ride But I'm the one who has the key Every time I turn around I'm looking up, you're looking down Maybe something's wrong with you that makes you act the way you do Maybe I'm crazy too I'm gonna to soak up the sun I'm gonna tell everyone to lighten up I'm gonna tell them that I've got no one to blame But every time I feel lame I'm looking up I'm gonna soak up the sun

Linger 04:29
If you, if you could return Don't let it burn, don't let it fade I'm sure I'm not being rude But it's just your attitude It's tearing me apart, it's ruining every day For me I swore I would be true But honey, so did you So why were you holding her hand Is that the way we stand Were you lying all the time Was it just a game to you And I'm in so deep You know I'm such a fool for you You've got me wrapped around your finger Do you have to let it linger Do you have to, do you have to, do have to let it linger Oh, I thought the world of you I thought nothing could go wrong But I was wrong, I was wrong If you, if you could get by Trying not to lie Then things wouldn't be so confused And I wouldn't feel so used But you always really knew I just want to be with you And I'm in so deep You know I'm such a fool for you You've got me wrapped around your finger Do have to let it linger Do you have to, do you have to, do have to let it linger And I'm in so deep You know I'm such a fool for you You've got me wrapped around your finger Do have to let it linger Do you have to, do you have to, do have to let it linger

It's time to move on, time to get going What lies ahead, I have no way of knowing But under my feet, baby, grass is growing It's time to move on, it's time to get going Broken skyline, moving through the airport She's an honest defector, conscientious objector Now her own protector Broken skyline, which way to Loveland Which way to something better, which way to forgiveness Which way do I go It's time to move on, time to get going What lies ahead, I have no way of knowing But under my feet, baby, grass is growing Time to move on, yeah, time to get going Sometime later, getting the words wrong Wasting the meaning and losing the rhyme Nauseous adrenaline Like breakin' up a dogfight Like a deer in the headlights, frozen in real time I'm losing my mind It's time to move on, time to get going What lies ahead, I have no way of knowing But under my feet, baby, grass is growing Time to move on, yeah, time to get going It's time to move on, time to get going What lies ahead, I have no way of knowing But under my feet, baby, grass is growing Time to move on, yeah, time to get going Time to move on, yeah, time to get going Time to get going

There's a place where lovers go To cry their troubles away And they call it Lonesome Town Where the broken hearts stay You can buy a dream or two To last you all through the years And the only price you pay Is a heart full of tears Going down to Lonesome Town Where the broken hearts stay Going down to Lonesome Town To cry my troubles away In the town of broken dreams The streets are paved with regret Maybe down in Lonesome Town I can learn to forget Maybe down in Lonesome Town I can learn to forget

I have climbed the highest mountains I have run through the fields Only to be with you Only to be with you I have run I have crawled I have scaled these city walls These city walls Only to be with you But I still haven't found What I'm looking for But I still haven't found What I'm looking for I have kissed honey lips Felt the healing in her fingertips It burned like fire This burning desire I have spoke with the tongue of angels I have held the hand of the devil It was warm in the night And I was cold as a stone But I still haven't found What I'm looking for But I still haven't found What I'm looking for I believe when the Kingdom comes Then all the colors will bleed into one Bleed into one But yes I'm still running You broke the bonds and You loosened the chains Carried the cross of my shame Of my shame You know I believed it But I still haven't found What I'm looking for But I still haven't found What I'm looking for

about

Featuring five covers from AM and FM radio of days gone by, Songs We Wish We Wrote answers an age-old question, "What if Soak Up The Sun was played in Drop D?"
We're so excited with the finished product and hope it'll find a home in your minivan stereo for years to come.
Each track will be released as a monthly single and music video wherever music is streamed. This is the only place to pick up the full EP without the wait.
